Reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is universal energy which surrounds us and this purest form of known healing was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui, who then spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki in Japan. Reiki is not a religion and requires no particular belief system so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment or learn how to use it, the only requirement is the desire to be healed or to heal.
Reiki works on the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical levels and helps the body to heal itself. It is very effective for relieving pain, treating stress and soothing negative emotional states. It is perfectly safe to use Reiki alongside traditional medicine and it is non-invasive as it is performed fully clothed.
Hands are placed over various parts of the torso and, as Reiki has its own intelligence, it will go where it is most needed. Crystals may be used to balance chakras, but this will be discussed this with you during the consultation prior to any treatments.
The Five Mikao Usui Reiki Principles:
- Just for today I will let go of anger;
- Just for today I will let go of worry;
- Today I will count my many blessings;
- Today I will do my work honestly;
- Today I will be kind to every living creature.

This treatment may not be suitable for those who have:
- Pacemaker fitted
- Infectious disease
- Some Epileptic patients
- Identified acute or chronic medical disorders
- In the first trimester of pregnancy
