About Me
Complementary Therapist and Teacher
My journey into the world of Complementary Therapies began in 2004 when, after a year of personal emotional difficulties, I was persuaded by a friend to take a short course at Grantham College which included introduction to a variety of therapies. At the same time, I was also studying for a Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology to enable me to take a Swedish Massage course and, during this, I made a new friend who told me about the benefits of Reiki and how it had changed her life.
I was fascinated by this and wanted to find out more so, in November 2004, I was attuned to Reiki Degree One and began my journey. Reiki Degree Two followed in February 2005 and, after practising on many, very patient, friends and relatives, I was approved by my Reiki Master, enabling me to be a practitioner. In early August 2005, I received my Reiki Masters attunement, allowing me to give far more effective treatments during Reiki sessions.
In February 2006 I completed the Reiki teaching course, enabling me to attune people to Reiki and I am now able to hold teaching sessions. To enhance my teaching, I completed the City and Guilds 7302 Certificate in Delivering Learning. If you are interested in learning either Reiki or Hopi Ear Candling (Thermo Auricular Therapy) and experiencing the benefits they can bring, please contact me, either by email or telephone.
I have studied Aromatherapy and Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Japanese Hand Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Eastern Facial Massage, Thermo Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candling), Reflexology, Herbal Compress Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Trigger Point Therapy for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) & Migraine, and Hot Stone Therapy, and am able to offer these to clients.
Following studies and exams, both theory and practical, with the original Dr Vodder School of MLD, I can also offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage, enabling clients to obtain relief from swollen limbs, PMS, bloating, breast tenderness and water retention.
Recent advanced studies and exams mean I am also qualified to treat both Primary and Secondary Lymphoedema, including the use of compression bandaging. In fact, following a recent successful interview, I also work in the Lymphoedema Clinic at the world renowned St George's Hospital, London. As well as offering a mobile service I have access to treatment rooms within Sleaford town centre, should clients prefer their treatments away from the home environment.
Due to demand for my therapies, I now offer a wider range of appointment times, including daytime.
I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association, MLDUK and Reiki Healers and Teachers Society and am insured for all therapy treatments and teaching.
